Student Venture (S.V.) is the Junior College arm of Campus Crusade for Christ, a Christian organization that has been ministering in many campuses for decades. The ministry is classified under 2 regions, namely East and Central, of which the East includes TJC, TPJC, VJC and MJC while RJC, CJC, HCI and HCJC are in the Central region.Currently SV is active in RJC, TJC & HCI, and we are looking into establishing a ministry in each of the previously named colleges.

December saw quite a bit happening for Student Venture, and boy, has it been EXCITING! Here’s a peek into what has been going on in the ministry

13 Dec-15 Dec

We joined the University Summit for 3days and it was insightful to see how the University ministries have been growing. It was cool to hear of existing ministries expanding and seeing how every student could play a role in making a difference in their campus. A couple of students from SV joined us for the Summit too! We had FUN!

26 Dec – 30Dec Metamorphosis Conference!!!

Essentially, Metamorphosis suggests “transformation” in Greek, and we definitely saw that @ Meta ‘06! Themed “Be that Someone” in accordance to Campus Crusade’s vision, students aged 12-25years old each caught a vision of how they could be that someone in the school God had placed them to be in for this season of their lives.

It was awesome to have almost 500 students worshipping, being equipped and capturing more of the Father’s heart in the week after Christmas. The Secondary and Junior College students that joined us during Meta were grouped under SV and it was heartening to know they each had a personal encounter with God. I’m glad to say that they were indeed transformed

 

Many of the students testified that after being exposed to street witnessing as part of the Conference, they felt better equipped to share Christ and were challenged to make a difference in their schools, and even some committing to full-time ministry in future!

Our youngest Conferencee was only 12 years old and had been a Christian for barely 2months during the time of Meta but his diligence to learn and to even share Christ during the street witnessing experience was something all of us learnt from.

And one of the student Conferencees received Christ at the end of Meta!
